The FizzleLab Improv Workshop is a free-to-attend space to bring musicians of all backgrounds and experience together to learn about and practice free improvisation. You don’t have to have any prior experience of improvising, but a willingness to have a go! Each session will be led by a top Birmingham-based improviser - for our second workshop we will be joined by Sarah Farmer, a multimedia artist and musician based in Birmingham. Her interdisciplinary work uses folk, improvisation, the violin and sci-fi to examine possible futures, particularly relating to climate, decolonisation and new economic models. She performs regularly as a solo/collaborative free improviser, and with contemporary folk bands The Destroyers and Bonfire Radicals.
