Mostly JFS Festival: LAOD

Lucy-Anne  Daniels is without doubt a rising star; she toured a couple of years  ago with National Youth Jazz Orchestra singing interpretations of Amy Winehouse songs and appeared last year in the Proms at The Royal Albert  Hall as part of a programme dedicated to the great American jazz  vocalist Sarah Vaughan.  

She has long been a member of the Dreamscapes group developed with guitarist Julien Durand whilst a student at the  Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

She says of the group:

“My main personal project at the moment is called LAOD (pronounced loud) and it's a trio with Julien Durand (guitar) and Kai Chareunsy (drums). Songs are front and centre - originals, reimagined standards and covers  (Bjork, Moses Sumney), and we're navigating them with electronics, effects, live looping that sort of thing.”
